The Boise Hawk’s Memorial Stadium was constructed in 1989 for $2.3 million and has become an obsolete venue from both an athletic and fan experience stand-point. Memorial Stadium is a baseball-specific facility that cannot be utilized readily for other events.

When recently surveyed, over 75% of Treasure Valley residents agreed that building a multi-use sports and entertainment facility was a good idea. In the same survey over 85% of respondents thought that now was a good time to execute the construction of a facility.

The Better Boise Coalition, (BBC), was created to take the lead to study potential sites for a new, multi-use stadium in Boise. The group is not endorsing a specific site, but will finance a professional evaluation of potential sites within the city.

About the Coalition:

The Better Boise Coalition is a volunteer, community-based group of civic, community and business leaders dedicated to further exploration of a multi-purpose Treasure Valley sports and entertainment complex. The BBC believes that such a facility would bring economic development, exciting sports and entertainment options to the Treasure Valley.

"A new stadium in Boise would stimulate both economic development and create a great new public asset for our community. Boise is a great community in part because of some outstanding public facilities like Bronco Stadium and the Morrison Center. A new, multi-purpose stadium for baseball, soccer, high school sports and community events will make Boise an even better place to live and recreate."
